2. Scenic Route Bakery - Art Show 5PM - 8PM

Scenic Route will be open late on Saturday night tho host an art showcase of all mediums. 3. Five Monkeys Inc - ROY-G-BIV Saturday 3PM - 7PM

ROY-G-BIV (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) From the artist Dina Bechman: My eyes have always been drawn to rainbows. If you put anything colored in front of me I will put them in color spectrum order. It soothes my heart and soul. I ALWAYS find joy in seeing the full color spectrum. I also LOVE creating with the spectrum! This show will be all new works by me in multiple mediums and will all have ALL THE COLORS!! Artist Reception June 22nd 3p-7p It's my birthday. Sunday June 23rd


1. Peace Tree Brewing & Five Monkeys Inc. Paint Your Own Pottery  - 12 - 4PM

Peace Tree and Five Monkeys Inc have teamed up to bring you a fun, creative opportunity. Five Monkeys Inc is bringing glaze and steins from their Paint Your Own Pottery Studio on site for you! Once you've created your masterpiece it will be kiln fired and returned to Peace Tree Brewing for pick up on Saturday June 29th. Please pick up your stein no later than July 1st. Cost $25 - there are five different styles to choose from, Each stein takes about an hour, stop in when it's convenient. Bring your creativity or don't, Five Monkeys Inc will have plenty of tools on hand to make your stein AMAZING!!  Check out the Facebook event

Monday June 24th


1. Plein Air Painting event with the Des Moines Social Club 6:00PM - 8:00PM

Use your creative skills to paint a canvas to be displayed at the Des Moines Social Club. You pick up your canvas on Friday, June 21st and have the weekend to paint a scene in the Des Moines area. All of the completed works will be displayed in the show Monday, June 24th in the Viaduct Gallery. Note: There will be a small supply fee for participation. Additional Details to be announced. 2. Polk County Heritage Gallery Iowa Exhibited XXXIV  11 AM - 4:30PM

Annual Juried show that showcases about 70 different artists from Iowa. - When: From Monday, June 24 to September 6, 2019. The gallery is open from Monday to Friday 11 am to 4.30pm. The Gallery is closed during the weekend. - Address: 11 Court Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309 (phone:515 286 2242)

3. Coffee & Collage at East Side Library  6:00 - 7:30 p.mM

Join us for a joyful gathering that celebrates imagination and the creative process. With cut out images from books, magazines and other sources, we will create fun, quirky and beautiful collages with various paper backgrounds. Whether you choose to make a set of greeting cards, bookmarks for friends or a larger piece to frame for your wall, you’ll be surprised how your imagination will lead the way to a unique, finished work of art. Tuesday June 25th


1. Fitch Building Open House 6:00PM - 9:00PM

Fitch building will host an open house for Art Week 2019.  More details to follow and you can keep up to date on the Fitch Building through their Facebook Page.

2. Three Dish Night at Bistro Nomad 5:00PM - 9:00PM

A fusion of visual and culinary art will be happening on June 25th at Bistro Nomad, Downtown Des Moines, IA. Master French Chef, David Baruthio and Artist, Brent Holland, spent time observing each other live in their field and even shared their hand in each other's craft. Now the Chef and Artist present an art exhibition and curated-cuisine influenced by the aesthetics and seasoned with the flavors of the Mediterranean. 

Patrons for the evening can expect a heightened sensory experience at their table. Dinner is accompanied by live music by Mr. John Krantz on piano while you gaze across the Pappajohn Sculpture Park on the perfect evening!

1. Des Moines Arts Festival Opens! 11:00AM - 10:00PM

The eleven-time Grand Pinnacle Award-winning Des Moines Arts Festival, presented by Nationwide, is being held June 28-30, 2019. This free annual three-day arts and culture festival will surround the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park. DMAF invites you to “…go where it takes you…” by engaging with 180 invited professional visual artists, emerging Iowa artists, the cutting-edge Interrobang Film Festival, live music, performing arts, interactive arts activities, award-winning community outreach programs, live artist workshops and demonstrations, artisan food, and beverages for every taste. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy, so mark your calendars! 2. Interrobang Film Festival - 11:00AM - 10:00PM

The Interrobang Film Festival presented by AARP Movies for Grownups, is three days filled with films and communication between filmmakers and audience members. The audience, whether cinema enthusiasts or curious newcomers, can experience curated screenings of 55 films form 30 different countries. Films are screened Friday, June 28th - Sunday, June 30th in the South wing of the Des Moines Public Library located on the Des Moines Arts Festival site.

Part juried competition, part public screening and part workshop, the unique film festival event allows people to experience films from artists around the globe. The term "interrobang" indicates a non-standard punctuation mark in an exclamatory manner, as in, "What are YOU doing for Art Week 2019?!" This mixture of query and interjection leaves room for reflection, contemplation and exploration. Since 2007, the Des Moines Arts Festival has presented the INterrobang Film Festival as part of its three-day lineup bringing the art of the film to Festival guests June 28-30th.

Sunday June 30th


1. ArtFest Midwest - Varied Industries Building - Iowa State Fairgrounds 10:00AM - 5:00PM

Artfest Midwest, Iowa's largest fina art show, is an indoor event (with a few outdoor spaces) held in the rain-free, air-conditioned Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Approximately 250 artists will be participating in this 15th annual event. ArtFest Midwest will again offer free shuttle bus service to downtown.
