Area Leaders to Unveil Major Regional Public Art Project at Press Conference

 What:              Area leaders will unveil details and officially launch the Art Route path in Downtown Des Moines, as well as share exciting new details about a regional expansion into a neighboring city. A live Art Route crosswalk art installation will also take place during the event. The Art Route will lead Downtown patrons and visitors to 87 pieces of art.

About Art Route Des Moines

Art Route Des Moines is a regional project launched in 2016 that unites 87 pieces of public art with a 6.6 mile long path painted on Downtown Des Moines sidewalks and intersections, plus an additional art pocket in a surrounding city. Think, “Follow the Yellow Brick Road,” where vibrant-colored circles and chevrons lead to world-renowned sculpture, murals and architecture — free for all to enjoy.
